Tribute to Yurkea : Team 🍅

Hey guyz we all have all been told inspiring stories of a gentleman or a beautiful lady. But in this official post we will be unraveling the history of a legendary device - YU Yureka, (codename - tomato 🍅) .

Yureka was the first device which was launched by the Company YU in India under the partnership of Micromax and it was through Amazon's flash sale and all the desired units were sold in less than 10Secs!

Having released at a affordable price at that time for it's specs and Android version 4.4 (Android KitKat), the beast Yureka made its debut. Post Launch, Yureka didn't have any special support from YU (the Company). The device stopped receiving updates after the lollipop update (Android 5.1.2).

But, the developers were just getting started with respect to this device. They did a great job, pushing it through the limits and the Yusers were very pleased. The development stayed at peak untill the nougat days (Android 7.1.2). However, majority of the top developers moved on to other devices later.

The list of developers who worked on Yureka is huge, YU forums had most of their work but now it's dead. And I can't recall all their names right now. A few mentions are as follows :

- Abhishek
- Somesh Thakur
- Shoaib Anwar
- Louis Popi
-  KarthickMostwanted
- Hriday Sharma
- Vinoth Raja
- Rakesh Batra

A big thanks to Ritesh Saxena for bringing up Oreo (Android 8.1.0) for the device and keeping the hopes alive. It also Supported VoLTE and was buttery smooth experience on hands.

During the initial pie(Android 9) release by google, nobody had high hopes for it on Yureka. But, Sanchit Rohilla made our dreams come true, which also motivated many others developers to continue.
In addition to this, recently, Abhishek tiwari made VoLTE available on pie for our device which was a very very challenging task.

Post Android 10 announcement by google, the few of us who own the device even to this day thought that 10 wouldn't be coming to our beast and pie would be the end of the journey for Yureka and it should probably rest in peace now at least.
But VJS Pranav was stubborn enough to not give up and didn't let our Yureka die with pie. He was successful in booting up Android 10 on the device and the Joy of yureka YUsers cannot be described! He's a hero right now for yureka users.

Well even at 1AM, 6th October 2019, having an interview in the morning, it makes me so happy to write this.

I (Prashant/Butti) would like to thanks each developer, who contributed to the device in terms of Roms/Kernel/mods who let the Yusers enjoy the latest Android and optimizations on their device.

Hope to see Android 11 on Yureka for sure too xD.

Regards,
Butti 🔥
